Modification of the PGOU of Chiclana to enable the implementation of solar energy generation plants
The purpose of the Modification of the PGOU of Chiclana de la Frontera is to develop article 13.3.16, as a measure to promote solar installations, thus complying with the obligation laid down in article 16.1 of Law 2/2007, of 27 March, on the promotion of renewable energies and energy saving and efficiency in Andalusia.
The modification has effects on the installations of electricity generation by means of photovoltaic solar energy, for which the general minimum distance of 750 m from population centres, 300 m from the nearest house and 150 m from the road is replaced by a minimum distance of 100 m to areas or sectors of the urban nucleus of global industrial use and 250 m to areas or sectors of the urban nucleus of other uses.
In this way, it also contributes to the achievement of one of the objectives of the Andalusian Energy Strategy 2020, approved in October 2015 by the Governing Council, which is to achieve a renewable energy contribution of 25% of gross final energy consumption.
Solar energy, in addition to being renewable, does not pollute or generate greenhouse gases, so its generation reduces the need to generate electricity through other polluting sources or those that favour climate change. This is why the impact of the implementation of solar energy generation facilities on the well-being and health of people is clearly positive.
